Airstrike hits Jenin Refugee Camp amid raid
03 July 2023: In the Jenin Refugee Camp, Jenin city and governorate, West Bank, during an Israel Defence Forces (IDF) raid across Jenin, soldiers searched houses for weapons, and arrested at least 20 Palestinians. A paramedic and his family were ordered to evacuate, before an airstrikes destroyed their home and others in the neighbourhood. 12 Palestinians, including a boy and girl aged 15 and 14 respectively, were killed, whilst at least 100 others were injured, 20 severely. In addition, Israeli soldiers prevented Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) crews from entering the camp to evacuate the wounded and obstructed access for ambulances. By 04 July, about 3,000 people were forced to leave the camp, and at least 173 people, or about 40 families, werel displaced from their homes up until 12 July. Water supply was cut off due to severe damage to infrastructure, and remained inaccessible for 40 percent of camp residents until at least 12 July.
