As reported on 14 April 2025: In Mirebalais city and arrondissement, Centre department, the Mirebalais University hospital, managed by the INGO Partners in Health, was repeatedly attacked by armed men for several days. Medical equipment, including power generators, was stolen and several doctors and nurses have been forced to flee. On 23 April, the hospital temporarily suspended its activities following the surge in armed violence in the area. 08 April 2025: In Port-au-Prince commune, Ouest department, MSF suspended its activities at the Turgeau emergency centre and the Carrefour trauma hospital for a minimum of three months following an attack on a Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) convoy on 15 March. 13 February 2025: In Avenue Monseigneur Guilloux and St Honoré, Champs-de-Mars neighbourhood, Port-au-Prince city, several departments including surgery, orthopedics, radiology, an operating room, as well as the pharmacy and the central archives office of the State University Hospital of Haiti were set on fire by armed gangs. 24 December 2024: At the corner of Ave. Monseigneur Guilloux and St Honoré, Champs-de-Mars neighbourhood, Port-au-Prince city, Ouest department, the Haiti State University Hospital (General Hospital) was attacked by armed men during the attempt to reopen it. Three people were killed, including two journalists and an unspecified number of others injured. As reported on 01 September 2023: In Carrefour-Feuilles, Ouest department, patients at the Sanatorium Hospital fled the facility and health workers were unable to access the facility following increased violence by armed groups who have seized control of the area. 14 February 2023: In Port-au-Prince, a male doctor and a female community health worker working for the Gheskio Centre, were kidnapped by armed bandits. In response, the institution in charge of researching and treating infectious diseases, announced the suspension of its activities. 04 December 2021: In the Bois Verna neighbourhood, Port-au-Prince, gang members shot and seriously injured a professor and dental surgeon, alongside his wife, while attempting to abduct them at Avenue Lamartiniere. Between 31 October – 1 November 2021: In Milot commune, Acul-du-Nord arrondissement, Nord department, the Sacré-Coeur Hospital was attacked by several gang members armed with machetes and guns. The perpetrators intended to kill a patient that had been injured during a voodoo ceremony, in order to prevent the victim from receiving treatment. The gang members opened fire on the hospital and set parts of the facility on fire, smashing the windows of more than a dozen vehicles and ambulances, and beating health workers. 16 October 2021: In Port-au-Prince, seven female and five male aid workers working for Christian Aid Ministries, and five children were kidnapped when returning from a visit to an orphanage. They were reportedly traveling in a bus from an orphanage to the airport when the attack occurred. 25 August 2021: In Santo, Croix-des-Bouquets arrondissement, Ouest department, a female NGO employee was kidnapped by armed perpetrators whilst on her way to work. The victim worked as a laboratory technician and collaborated with a local hospital and prenatal clinic for over 15 years. As a result of the attack, the NGO closed all of their institutions in Haiti except for a hospital A&E department until the victim was released on 28 August 2021.
