Attacks on Health Care
24 June 2025: In Muglad city, West Kordofan state, the Al Mujlad Hospital was severely damaged by bombing from an unidentified group, killing over 40 people, including five health workers and six children. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) blamed the Sudanese army, while the army did not comment. The hospital is located on the front line where RSF and SAF have been fighting since April 2023. Around 29 April 2025: In Zamzam Refugee Camp, El Fasher city, North Darfur state, an MSF field hospital was looted and completely destroyed by RSF, who published videos from inside the hospital, claiming it housed combatants from the army-allied Joint Force and treated their wounded. 13 April 2025: In Zamzam Refugee Camp, El Fasher city, North Darfur state, a kitchen run by Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA) was completely burned and destroyed by RSF shelling. 24 January 2025: In El Fasher city, North Darfur state, the MSF-supported Saudi Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital, the only functional hospital in the city, was hit by a suspected RSF drone strike. January 2025
04 January 2025: In El Fasher city, North Darfur state, the MSF-supported Saudi Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital was hit by RSF shelling, killing two people and injuring two health workers. This is the 14th time the facility has been attacked since the conflict began. Amid the bombardments surrounding the hospital, an image made the rounds on social media of doctors performing a caesarean section using mobile phone torchlights as explosions continued near the facility. 30 December 2024: In Wad Rawah town, Al Jazirah state, a clinic, market and mosque were burnt down, medical equipment stolen and an unspecified number of pharmacies looted during an attack on the area by the RSF. Sources: Sudan Doctors Network and Sudan Tribune. Return to Sudan home page.

20 August 2024: In Ed Daein city, East Darfur state, 15 people were killed and at least 17 injured when the Ed Daein Teaching Hospital was hit by an SAF airstrike. 01 August 2024: In El-Fasher city, North Darfur State, the MSF-supported Saudi Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital was hit by RSF shelling, killing three caregivers and injuring 25 others including IDPs who were sheltering in a nearby mosque. 26 May 2024: In El Fasher city, North Darfur state, a shell landed inside the MSF-supported South Hospital, injuring three people. 14 August 2023: In Kadugli town, South Kordofan state, two humanitarian compounds were hit by stray bullets amid fighting between the SPLM-N Al Hilu faction and the SAF. Aid workers in Kadugli were advised to restrict their movement. Those outside of Kadugli were unable to reach the town. 06 December 2022: In El Nehoud locality, West Kordofan state, a group of masked men linked to ex-President Omar Al Bashir, armed with Kalashnikovs and sticks, stormed the El Nehoud Hospital, and severely beat a doctor in the Emergency Department. 09 November 2022: In Juguma locality, Central Darfur state, humanitarian organisations were forced to evacuate their staff from Juguma locality and to suspend operations in villages surrounding Bindisi town amidst insecurity caused by clashes involving the Messiria tribe and the Awlad Rashid clan of the Rizeigat tribe. The event limited the delivery of health, nutrition, water, sanitation, and hygiene services to about 30,000 people, including 8,000 IDPs. Source: Radio Dabanga

18 October 2022: In Kutum town, North Darfur state, four armed herders on motorcycles blocked the route of displaced farmers travelling to Goz Aba village. An IDP was fatally shot, and another got wounded. On 19 November, following the arrest of one of the perpetrators, more gunmen on motorcycles attacked the village, where they killed another displaced farmer, and kidnapped another.
